The Shoemaker and his Son
Mendl Bosyk, Abraham Bosyk the shoemaker's son was considered a good violinist. His father hoped his son would train as a musician. Mendl was murdered along with his parents in 1942.

Kreinchi the crockery seller, along with her faithful companion the goat.
Melamed in a Heyder
The melamed taught and his wife kept the room well heated for the children's sake. The melamed shouted, to no avail, that the heating expense would drive them to bankruptcy.

The few well to do residents booked Shmill Der Royter (Shmill the red head) carriage. The rest had to walk.

1979 The Matzah Bakers
The matzah bakers worked hard to have the matzhs ready for Passover. The children liked sneaking in to watch the matzhs being baked, and were regularly kicked out by the annoyed bakers.

The Hebrew school Tarbut. The teacher Hayim Roys taught Hebrew and about Eretz Israel.

Before the wedding the jester sings sad songs to the bride and her female guests.

The wealthy people went to the doctor. The others had to make do with Shimshon Der Royfe who extracted teeth and treated all ailments.

The public announcer delivers important messages. The peasant woman's pig has gone missing, and she's desperate for its return.
The Three Dressmakers
In the Yiddish folk song the dressmaker says the she's been sewing for years but haven't yet made her own wedding dress.
